The Association released a report yesterday that China's total output of cotton will be 7 million 800 thousand tons in 2008.

The price of pre harvest seed cotton continued to decline sharply in the early months, and the price was stable in the later period. The overall selling speed of the whole country accelerated, but it was still significantly slower than the same period in 2007.

According to the China Cotton Association's monitoring, as of November 30th, the average turnover rate of farmers surveyed was 54%, down 20 percentage points year-on-year, and the average selling price of seed cotton was 4.6 yuan / kg throughout the month, down 0.62 yuan from October, down 1.56 yuan, or 25%, compared with the same period in 2007.

In November, the mainland cotton began to enter the stockpile. In that month, a total turnover of 384 thousand and 350 tons, plus the previous volume, totaled 658 thousand and 550 tons in 2008, accounting for 54% of the 1 million 220 thousand tons of the planned storage capacity.

With the acceleration of the collection and storage process, the number of acquisition and processing enterprises, especially the 400 type large package enterprises, increased in November, and the progress of the purchase was quicker than before. However, the imbalance among various regions, including the acquisition of Xinjiang cotton area, has entered the later stage.

The purchase price of cotton first fell and then stabilized, and sales prices rebounded slightly, but the market sales situation was still relatively low.

According to the cotton association of China, the average purchase price of standard grade seed cotton was 4.7 yuan / kg in the same month, 0.53 yuan / kg lower than that in October, and 10246 yuan / ton (excluding processing charge) of lint cotton, down 1145 yuan / ton compared with October.
