In November of the same year, Kai Yun group filed a lawsuit against Alibaba for the same reason for the second time.

In addition, LVMH group has accused Alibaba of selling fake products and infringing brand labels of the group.

There are people in the industry who believe that Alibaba group owns Taobao and Tmall mall platform, but it is a problem member, and its platforms are rampant.

The membership of IACC is mainly provided by companies affected by counterfeit goods and companies seeking intellectual property protection. However, due to the industry status and related policies of Alibaba group, it has the opportunity to cooperate with potential partners IACC to combat counterfeit and pirated goods.

Delphine Sarfati-Sobreira, chairman of the anti fake alliance Unifab, said that its brand members had been waiting for the Alibaba to cash in on the results of counterfeiting and shoddy goods, but they have still not received results.

But from another point of view, Alibaba's entry into IACC has helped to get rid of the image of counterfeiting and shoddy goods in the past.

Earlier, Alibaba group appointed Matthew Bassiur as the chief anti-counterfeiting officer and vice president of the group.

He will lead the company team to further protect intellectual property rights with international brands, trade associations and regulatory law enforcement agencies.

Matthew Bassiur has worked in Pfizer and Apple Corp, and is quite familiar with the field of intellectual property.

Previously, he served as a federal prosecutor in the computer crime and intellectual property division of the judiciary, and served as assistant prosecutor in Manhattan.

Ma Yun, the founder of Alibaba group, said at the end of last year that the entry of Matthew Bassiur was the latest step in the Alibaba group's fight against counterfeit goods.
