Demand for luxury goods is booming and trade in leather is booming.

In 2013, the total leather trade in the Gulf area amounted to US $3 billion 900 million, covering semi finished leather, finished leather products, travel products, accessories, handbags and shoes.

The total import and export trade of the leather industry in the United Arab Emirates is about 2 billion US dollars, which occupies an important position in the Gulf region. According to Bain analysis, Dubai occupies 30% of the luxury goods market in the Middle East. It ranks behind London in the world's most important destination market for international retailers, ranking second.

Leather trade is booming and luxury consumption is enduring. Dubai has become the ideal platform for the first international leather exhibition in the Middle East.

The first exhibition of Middle East Global leather exhibition held in Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center from May 4, 2015 to May 6th will attract the participation of tanneries from the Middle East, Asia and Africa and European leather products manufacturers, bringing new business opportunities to manufacturers, suppliers and buyers of the global leather industry.

Exhibitors include tanneries, leather chemicals, leather machinery companies and leather goods (including shoes, handbags, wallets, accessories, furniture and other products made from genuine leather).

The Middle East Leather Fair has been supported by the world's major leather traders and tanneries Association, including the support of the Syndicat General des Cuirs et Peaux and the French tanning Federation. It is the first leather exhibition held in the Middle East and is the only exhibition to cross the leather industry's entire industrial chain.

"Our exhibition has received a positive response from the leather industry. The first exhibition is expected to attract 120 exhibitors.

The global leather brands, tanneries and manufacturers will co organize this exhibition with potential suppliers and display their products to tens of millions of buyers and retailers.

The exhibition organizers Epoc Messe Frankfurt CEO Ahmed Pauwels said.

He added that the exhibition will contribute to the growth trend of leather industry chain integration.

Global manufacturers and brands can evaluate any potential acquisitions at the exhibition, identify important business opportunities, and control supply, finished products, raw materials and supplier quality.

The exhibition will also provide more choices for exhibitors, such as finding value-added production products and outsourcing labor intensive production lines, and increasing price competitiveness.
