Chen Deming, Minister of Commerce, said recently that the 1.7 US funded enterprises operating in China are in good condition, which has brought vitality and business opportunities to the upstream and downstream enterprises in various countries.

Chen Deming, speaking at the annual China United States Chamber of Commerce annual dinner, said that China will continue to unswervingly expand its opening to the outside world, resolutely protect intellectual property rights, crack down on illegal market conduct, and create a favorable investment environment for all investors, including the United States.

He said that at present, US enterprises invest nearly $60 billion in China, and there are 1.7 US funded enterprises operating in China, with annual sales revenue of over 100 billion US dollars and nearly 2 million 200 thousand people directly employed.

The vast majority of Chinese and US funded enterprises are in good operation and have brought vitality and business opportunities to the upstream and downstream enterprises in various countries.

He pointed out that facts show that in the context of economic globalization, international investment cooperation is consistent with the objective law of effective allocation of resources and is mutually beneficial.

China will continue to actively support American enterprises to further expand their investment in China.

Chen Deming said that at the G20 Washington summit and APEC informal meeting, which was not long ago, leaders of various countries reached important consensus on opposing protectionism and promoting multilateral trade negotiations.

China is willing to take an active part in international cooperation in dealing with the financial crisis and make contributions to the steady development of the world economy with the international community.
