Made In China Costs 100 Times.

She can turn a rags into the clothes worn by her little sister in Hongkong. She also lets the Chinese made brand clothes in discount shelves rise by a hundredfold.

She is Tan Yanyu, Vivienne Tam, an American Chinese fashion designer.

Vivienne Tam, a Chinese American fashion designer, has raised the price of Chinese made brand clothes in discount shelves by a hundred times.

Many designers claim to blend in the East and West styles, but they can surpass Tan Yanyu.

Her fusion of Chinese style works is favored by Julia, Roberts, Beyonce and Madonna. Forbes magazine last year was nominated for the top 25 Chinese Americans in business.

In retrospect, she started her career in the early 80s of twentieth Century when she was walking on the streets of Manhattan and selling clothes directly from the bag.

She said it was difficult to persuade American fashion companies to believe in her Chinese style design talent.

In an interview with Agence France-Presse, Tan Yanyu said, "when I first came to the United States, people did not believe that China also had designers.

Looking around, we saw only the US and European brands.

"They thought I was going to sell cheap T-shirts and bargains.

But I said, "this is not the case."

She began to "change people's view of China" and let people know that their country has a glorious history in design and handicrafts.

Tan Yanyu said, "changing people's attitude and mentality is very difficult. It takes time, but it can be done."

"I really want to change people's view of China and tell people that China is not just a manufacturer, but we also have designers.

I must prove that China's products are also excellent.

Her persistence was rewarded.

Today, she can find traces of her specialty stores in many major cities around the world.

In addition, she has integrated the eastern and Western styles, such as Mao's image and lotus logo, which has been recognized by the mainstream society.

Some of her works are also collected by the Pittsburgh Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Vitoria Museum in London, and the Albert Museum.

Tan Yanyu's 2011 autumn new series highlights lotus leaf sleeves, tower shoulder pads, high collar and dragon pattern embroidery, highlighting designers' themes of Kunqu Opera with a long history in China.

In 2006, she published the book "China Wind", a brilliant book, and discussed how the Chinese wind could bring the world influence from the aspects of fashion, cooking and furniture.

She also became a celebrity from a designer. Last year, she appeared in front of the audience as a judge in the reality TV series "Overpass", showing her increasingly important designer status.

Tan Yanyu was born in Guangzhou, southern China in 1957. The road is full of thorns.

When Tan Yanyu was three years old, her parents emigrated to Hongkong under British control.

Despite the economic constraints, Tan Yanyu said that the 22 year in Hongkong was a "happy time" because she entered the local university to learn fashion.

When he moved to New York in 1982 to pursue his dream, Tan Yanyu's first design was sold to Henri Bendel, which was the excavator of many fashion novice - and some other Manhattan stores.

Her first fashion series was released in 1994.

She said, "I bring my dream to America."

It's unbelievable that I built a brand today.

There is a Chinese proverb that says, "drink the water and think the source," and Tan Yanyu thinks she has always been loyal to her own origin.

She said, "my mother had a great influence on me. When I was young, we had no money to buy new clothes for the new year, so my mother bought pieces of cloth and put together a few pieces of cloth to make new clothes for us."

"This inspires me to pursue individuality, create uniqueness, and have my own style.

What we wear is unique, unique and unique in the world.
