The color of melodrama costumes -- University of Bristol Sarah Street

The British movie melodrama "Tales of sound and fury" was particularly high color from 1940 to 1950, designed for maximum impact. Using a well-known example, this paper focuses on movies such as Saraband for Deed lovers, Footsteps in the Fog, and some other influences on clothing color, and their use of color as the main reference object. Hand, fabric and movement are considered additional elements for analyzing the meaning of fusion clothing and color, and for symbolic understanding of colors and specific narrative texts. These films also have an impact on the future "rotro" movies.

Film & Fashion -- The University of Nottingham Ningbo Armida de la Garza

The seminar sponsor and guest speaker, Professor Armida dela Garza of The University of Nottingham Ningbo, shared with us her views on fashion, clothing, film and other fields.

"Fashion designers can make full use of movies to feed their fashions," Armida said. "We choose to wear clothes that tell us a story about ourselves, what kind of people we are, and how we want others to know ourselves. Fashion designers are also helping the movie do the same thing. They use clothes to shape characters and build credible and persuasive figures by contours, colors, lines and textures so that viewers can touch and create a sense of emotional appeal. She also suggests that fashion designers do similar things in designing their series.

Clothing is one of the fashion elements of the movie, which helps the movie find its own position. Several speakers at the seminar talk about their views on the prospect of Chinese fashion clothes and movies. Armida hopes high hopes for the future of Chinese cinema and fashion. Professor Sarah Street from University of Bristol, UK, shows that she appreciates the costumes of Asian films. Eugenia Paulicelli, from New York University, shows strong interest in Wong Kar Wai's films and old Shanghai dress culture. "China has not really developed in this field, but" China is indeed a promising country, "Armida said.
