Fujian Institute of Quality Supervision Bureau intelligence office WTO workstation revealed that recently the United States is working on a new industrial standard to limit lead content in handbags and footwear, and it will be formally implemented in December 1, 2010, when the materials used in handbags, shoes and accessories will be implemented, or will affect Fujian related export enterprises.

Fujian is a major export province for footwear exports, of which footwear is a traditional bulk export commodity, while the United States is the main export area of footwear in Fujian.

The Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau WTO workstation experts suggest that the relevant enterprises should pay close attention to the implementation of the standard, and find out the lead content of products exported to the United States.

In addition, we should promptly improve the production process, change the production structure, and establish a complete supervision chain from design, raw materials into production, production and processing, product testing to after-sales service and tracking and feedback from abroad, so as to effectively reduce lead content in products.

Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau experts said that the scope of the standard may also extend to the belt and other popular accessories materials.
