The Pakistan Textile Sector Is In Crisis.

Mohammed Annis ha, the executive vice president of the Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), said that the current system is bad, unplanned policies and erroneous priorities, bringing the textile sector to a crisis.

He said 30 of the 50 textile factories in southern Punjab province have been closed, resulting in about 100000 workers losing their jobs.

The remaining textile factories will soon be closed.

He suggested that the government is currently earning 39-41 rupees / litres from petrol.

If the government reasonably reduces the price of gasoline and rescues the country from the energy crisis, then the industrial sector can expect unexpected growth and become a viable export item.

The energy crisis has pushed the textile sector to the wall, and the textile sector has invested more than 60 billion dollars. At present, such high investment has no profit.

There is no doubt that the textile sector is the backbone of the national economy, and has gained more foreign exchange income for the country compared with other sectors.

Annes ha Wara warned that if the government could not make arrangements for the continuous supply of electricity and natural gas to the textile sector, Pakistan would not be able to achieve its export targets, and it would also cause about 1000000 workers to lose their jobs.

After suspending the supply of natural gas, the power company limited its electricity for 10-12 hours a day.

Under such circumstances, textile units have no choice but to close at most within 45 days.

He said that if the government is to save about 1000000 people's jobs and save textile exports, priority must be given to giving priority to the supply of electricity and natural gas to these units.

He said the government agreed to close the compressed natural gas station during the period of high natural gas demand, but the decision has not yet been implemented.

He once again said that the textile industry could not make up for their loans and maintain business.
