India Cotton Organization Requires Government To Restore Export Incentives

2008/11/29 0:00:00 66

The India Cotton Association asked the government to take immediate measures to save India's cotton and textile industry, including the restoration of export incentive policies, allowing the DEPB to finalize production input and output standards.

CAI President PDPatodia said in a statement, on the one hand, because of the sudden increase in the minimum supporting price (MSP) of cotton, the price of international cotton fell sharply, and at the same time, the current economic crisis seriously impacted the demand of the global cotton market, so there was no instability in the cotton industry and textile industry.

All links in the cotton economic chain are in the doldrums, including ginning, trade, export and textile mills.

CAI recommends that the government, through the India Cotton Corp, increase the supply of cotton to textile mills and India exporters at a market price and ensure the continuity of market supply through appropriate means.
