Microsoft, Facebook and other companies have announced new ways to pmit contacts between social networks.
On Tuesday, companies such as Microsoft and Facebook announced new ways to pfer contacts between social networks.
Recently, Microsoft and other manufacturers joined an organization called DataPortability.org. DataPortability.org is designed to enable users to control the data they store on Web.
At present, it is not very difficult to invite a friend on a social network to join other social networks. But Microsoft said that the current way to accomplish this task is not safe enough and not convenient enough.
Microsoft and 4 other social networks have combined to enable users to exchange address book API safely. Unlike the technology that currently captures data from screens, these API are related to the back-end data system of social networks.
Although this does not sound a significant development, Microsoft calls it the "first step" to achieve data pplanting among different social networks.
Initially, users will only be able to invite friends on Facebook and Bebo, as well as Hotmail contacts. Later, users will also be able to invite friends on LinkedIn, Hi5 and Tagged.
