Imported

According to the requirements of the house of Representatives methodology Committee, the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) will monitor some Chinese textile and clothing imports. The ITC will provide the Committee with Bi weekly reports on the import volume, import amount, unit price and market share of textiles and clothing products. The products under surveillance are listed in the memorandum of understanding on trade in textile and clothing products between the United States and China implemented at the end of 2005. The Commission said the reason for monitoring China's imports was because of concerns about the influx of Chinese textile and clothing imports into the U.S. market after the end of the Mou in December. The committee pointed out that China's textile and clothing exports to the United States had increased significantly since the end of import restrictions under the WTO Agreement on textiles and clothing in 2005. The ITC (an independent, nonpartisan, and fact finding federal agency) is required to submit its first report to the Commission on December 1, 2008. The report will provide a summary of historical data, including import volume, value, unit price and market share from January 1, 2003 to the latest month. Next, ITC will provide a bi weekly report to the Committee. ITC will also issue annual data summary report. The monitoring work of ITC will be carried out based on the survey of China's textile and clothing imports, the topic of which is statistical data report.
