The China Silk Fair (small trade fair) is a professional export fair based on Silk raw materials and fabrics. It has enjoyed a high reputation and influence in the international silk industry. It has become one of the most important platforms for domestic and foreign silk import and export business to negotiate, deepen understanding and enhance communication.

The 2012 China Silk Fair February 2012, sponsored by the China Textile Import and Export Chamber of Commerce and the China Silk Import and Export Corporation, was officially opened on February 2012 at the Hongkong Exhibition Centre.

The industry has attached great importance to this fair. A total of more than 50 enterprises have sent nearly 100 senior and middle managers.

On the opening day, Zhang Xinmin, vice president of the China Textiles Import and Export Chamber of Commerce, came to the conference hall, and had extensive exchanges with the representatives of the enterprises.

Businessmen from India, Hongkong, Europe, Japan and Thailand came to the meeting to discuss the atmosphere.

The silk importers and exporters make inquiries and negotiations on raw silk, satin and finished products.

At present, the export price of raw silk is about $44-45 / kg or more. As the main importing area of raw silk, the psychological price of India merchants is about 40-44 USD / kg, and there is a gap between the buyers and sellers.

Our exporters who have participated in this situation say that there is a gap between the buyers and sellers in each year's enquiry, which is a normal situation. But if exporters and reeling enterprises accept the offer from India, they will not only be unprofitable, but also create a price upside down.

For many domestic enterprises who are generally concerned about whether to adjust the import tariff of raw silk in the 2012-2013 fiscal year of India, India merchants have different opinions. Some say that the tariff rate will be raised under the continuous protest of India's upstream silkworm farmers, and the policy of raw silk imports will swing.

Some businessmen believe that India is a member of the WTO. For example, raising the tariff level of raw silk will not meet the WTO's spirit of cutting tariffs on the "market access principle" and "reciprocity principle".

The current situation of silk consumption in India market is not ideal. The high price of raw materials is an important reason. Increasing the import tariff of raw silk will increase the production cost of small and medium-sized workshops. Therefore, the import tariff of raw silk should remain unchanged in the new financial year.

The final answer will be announced when the India government announces the new fiscal year budget for India.

Wei Jianguo: It Is Recommended To Introduce A New Policy To Encourage Exports To Deal With The Global Trade War.

The global trade war is about to start, because countries, especially Europe and the United States, suffer from economic crisis and sovereign debt crisis, so they accuse China of the export of the world's second largest economy. Export enterprises are also facing the challenge of RMB appreciation, rising imports of raw materials, and rising labor costs. But I think these three difficulties can be overcome. Trade protectionism is the real challenge for Chinese enterprises.
